I HEARD THE VOICE OF JESUS SAY

Sunday, January 03, 2010
I praise God for giving me this song.  I actually heard this over DZFE 98.7 FM The Master's Touch.
The song just touched me like a gentle snowflake in the face... The version I heard was from the West Coast Mennonite Chamber Choir in their Album BY LIGHT INDWELLED. It's directed by Tony Funk.  They have a beautiful sample that you could hear by clicking HERE.  You just don't hear hymns like this anymore... sung by a virtuouso chorale, more so.  I do hope I could get a copy of their album soon.

I HEARD THE VOICE OF JESUS SAY
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28-30

I heard the voice of Jesus say, "Come unto Me and rest;
Lay down, thou weary one, lay down Thy head upon My breast."
I came to Jesus as I was, weary and worn and sad;
I found in Him a resting place, and He has made me glad.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, "Behold, I freely give
The living water; thirsty one, stoop down, and drink, and live."
I came to Jesus, and I drank of that life giving stream;
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived, and now I live in Him.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, "I am this dark world's light;
Look unto Me, thy morn shall rise, and all thy day be bright."
I looked to Jesus, and I found in Him my star, my sun;
And in that light of life I'll walk, till traveling days are done.

Hallelujah.  Thank You Lord!  I looked unto JESUS, and found everything I was looking for.  Jesus, You are my reward...
